Nrutyabhinaya 2025

Welcome to Nrutyabhinaya, a solo Bharatanatyam Abhinaya competition.

Date: 16th August, 2025

Venue: Pune

The following are the rules and regulations of the competition. We advise you to read these carefully to avoid any confusion and misunderstandings.

Performance Rules:

• All of you are expected to perform a Natya piece, that is, an Abhinaya composition.

• Age Groups: Juniors (10 to 16 years) Seniors (17 to 30 years)

• The piece should be a traditional Abhinaya composition like a Padam, Javali, or an Ashtapadi.

• The minimum duration is 5 minutes, and the maximum duration is 9 minutes. Failure to adhere to the time limit will result in direct disqualification.

• Before starting the presentation, please introduce yourself (your name, age, gurus name, city) and the composition you will be presenting (raga, tala, choreography, composer).

• The time you need to do this introduction will not be counted in the time limit.

• After the presentation, our judges will ask some questions related to your performance.

• This viva will carry marks in the final mark sheet.

• All of you are requested to strictly wear the traditional Bharatanatyam costume. Wearing a half saree, draped saree, Dhoti or Dawni will result in direct disqualification.

• All of you are expected to bring along your music both on your phones and on a pen drive.

• Our judges may ask you to present or prepare a small choreography on the spot, so it is necessary that you are prepared for this, too (APPLICABLE TO THR SENIOR CATEGORY ONLY).

• The reporting time and slot division will be conveyed to you a few days ahead of the competition.

  
  

  Judgement and Prize Distribution :

• Winners will receive cash prizes, certificates, and gifts.

• Only three prizes will be awarded in each category.

• Prize distribution will take place on the same day in the evening.

• The competition will be held in Pune. The exact venue will be announced soon.

• Registration fees for the competition: INR 1200/per participant (Last date to register 20th July)
